Welcome to IKSU Kampsport
We practice martial arts and have beginners courses in Sport Ju-jutsu and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. The club started up in 2002 by Christer ”Didde” Öqvist who has a long experience from competing in ju-jutsu with several medals on an international level. We strive to have fun when we train and at the same time give everybody a chance to develop their skills.
Sport Ju-jutsu is a modern style of ju-jutsu and involves kicks, punches, throws and takedowns as well as wrestling with joint-locks & chokeholds. The training suits everybody whether you are looking for physical training or want to compete in a martial art. The techniques are adapted to the competing system within ju-jutsu which is an advantage for those who choose to compete. A great deal of the training focuses on sparring which is also tested in the promotion to a higher belt. Everybody can train Sport Ju-jutsu regardless of her or his physical condition.
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (BJJ)
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is a martial art that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position and using joint-locks and chokeholds to force an opponent to submit. The art was based on early 20th century Kodokan Judo. It promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person using leverage and proper technique can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant. A lot of focus is being put on the technical aspects Sparring and live drilling also play a major role in training.
